History of Photography & Camera

Another electronic device that could be considered as important in our life is ‘camera’. Now, I do believe that every house in this world will have at least one no matter what kind of brand it is. It becomes a priority in our live today to memorize something such as wedding event, birthday celebration, graduation ceremony and many more. Well, by taking a photo to shoot any moment in this event could explain every single thing happens on that occasion. Let us journey back to the time where camera or photography was invented.

For y’all info, the word ‘photography’ is taken from Greek which photo means ‘light’ while graphien means ‘to draw’. It does make sense since the images that we took are for our own memory.  The word photography used in 1839 by a scientist named F. W. Herschel. Let us dig who is the real person invented the camera and what kind of camera he created.

The first camera invented is called Pinhole Camera (also known as Camera Obscura). This camera was invented by a Muslim scientist Ibnu Al-Haytham. You all have heard how our eyes catch an image is actually upside down and when the data send it to our brain it will be a normal image again. This kind of theorem absorbed in the first camera technology which means the camera actually read the image in upside down but when printed out, we just turn picture as normal.

Since then, the camera keeps growing up and people start inventing a new technology to make sure that a camera is easy to use and becomes more reliable. I just want to add some more about camera which most of us did remember how we use film in camera. That kind of process we call it negative-positive process. The film itself is actually a negative then we send the film to any photo outlet to turn the negative into positive. To do this kind of process surely we need a large machine with limited light surrounding. Every teeny tiny noise could affect the positive image. Usually only expert has authorized to handle this process.

Well as y’all know a lot of things changed now in camera. You would noticed that to take a picture nowdays is pretty easy as turn it on, point, snap and turn it off. Then go to a computer and upload the taken image to see or go to any photo outlet and print it out. I just want to say that even camera in this era is pretty simple but we do have to appreciate and thanks to all those people back then for giving us the kick start in inventing a camera.
