Global Positioning System (GPS)

Previously, we already talked about Geo-Stationary Satellite and what its purposes. Now, we will look at one of the technology used by the satellite. It is called 'Global Positioning System'. Let say when you are traveling to somewhere unfamiliar, and you do not know where exactly you are and is it the correctly heading you took? Well, introducing to Global Positioning System (GPS) that will help you to navigate and notify what is your current location. This kind of technology created to ease-up the humankind especially for travelers. The GPS becomes famous nowdays and some of you might be take it as a requirement for life.

Now let us see on 'How the GPS works?'. As told to you before, GPS is invented using geo-stationary satellite so it is a space-based satellite technology system. It can be done by using one geo-stationary satellite but for better accuracy, we use more than one satellite (at least three). The GPS itself has 24 satellites around the globe just to serve the world the navigation and coordination system. A transmitter will send a coordination request to the GPS satellites and each satellites will measure the location and revert the data back to the transmitter on the exact location data. It also could give the details on your journey to somewhere by providing a map in the GPS device. Now you can realize on how technologies invented to keep you warm, safe and stay out of the nervous.

Just because of the GPS is used for world widely, you only familiar with the word GPS. Actually the GPS is launched by United State of America (USA) and promote the technology for the world. In some other country their may have their own positioning system. In Russia, this positioning technology is called GLONASS which is stands for GLObal NAvigation Satellite System. For few other examples, in China they have Chinese COMPASS navigation system while in Europe they have Galileo positioning system. No matter what they call and the they pronounce it, still they using the same method in defining the position.

Another tool to determine your position is Google Maps. If you don't have any GPS satellite transmitter but you do have an internet connection, you might want to use Google as your coordination system. It is powerful stuff nowdays and it is globally covered for your traveling purposes. It could be operated via computer and also by your phone. If you wish to go somewhere and you got no idea how to reach there, Google Maps can helps you to find the direction plus you also may change the direction based on your desire. Try now, and you will be amazed by the technology provided!

You might be wondering how people previously gets the direction. Simple! Just by asking someone around. There was a folk saying that 'you will be lost if you are not asking'. By using this method people actually will get more friendly among societies. You also could the their culture just by getting involved in another society. Sometime, in this kind of way people do realize on the importance to rely on each other and indirectly could plant love among each other. So it is depend on you actually on how you want to use the technology. Don't because of the technology people will fight with each other.
